Job Description

Job Title:  Mobile Maintenance Shovel Maintenance Supervisor
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Maintenance Shovel Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance General Foreman, the Mine Maintenance Shovel Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing repairs, overhauls, and new builds to mining related equipment. This position will employ reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting functions, planning and execution of maintenance functions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Demonstrate technical and conceptual aptitude in anticipating problems and guiding the team to deliver agreed departmental and business goals to ensure the value of the business is maintained or improved
  • Plan, organize, manage and coordinate the activities of mobile equipment involved in production
  • Manage emergency and breakdown work, defined as any work identified after the maintenance schedule is posted, and order parts or materials as required.
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules and planned shutdowns, as per vendor specifications.
  • Respect, know and promote company regulations and policies, particularly with regard to health and safety
  • Plan, prepare and perform follow-ups of health and safety activities such as joint inspections, risk analyses and incident/accident reports
  • Solve problems related to your area of activity and recommend measures to improve departmental productivity
  • Ensure the proper functioning of all activities and compliance with procedures
  • Manage personnel, evaluate performance and see to employee development
  • Use SAP software system effectively to properly document work performed, order parts, check inventory and monitor equipment history.
  • Keep records on production and write reports
  • Ensure the proper management of operating expenses
  • All other related tasks

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience with Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment is considered an asset
  • Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Proficient utilizing MS Office programs
  • Knowledge of quality fundamentals
  • Strong leadership attributes
  • Ontario Common Core an asset
  • SAP experience an asset
  • Fluent in the language of operation

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Red Seal Journeyperson certification
  • College Diploma or Diploma of Vocational Studies in a subject relevant to the mining industry
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in mining operations with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license

LOCATION

  • This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a 14/14 rotation.
